A straight, lossless copy of every pixel. Expect a bigger file — PNG does not throw detail away, and it cannot bring back what JPG already did.

What JPG to PNG Converter does

    Turn the white background transparent

Most people convert JPG to PNG for transparency. Switch on “Make transparent” and the background colour is removed, so a logo or signature sits cleanly on any page or slide.

Removes the outside, keeps the inside

Background is cleared from the edges inward, so white that belongs to the subject — the hole in an “o”, a white shirt, the whites of eyes — stays. Pick “Everywhere” when it should go too.

    Clean edges, no white fringe

JPG edges are soft and noisy. Pixels at the border become partly transparent and have the background colour taken back out of them, so there is no pale halo on dark backgrounds.

    Whole folders at once

Drop in up to 50 images or paste a screenshot. Change a setting once and every file is redone, then download them one by one or as a ZIP.

    See what you get

The comparison slider shows the result over a checkerboard, so you can tell transparent areas from white ones before you download.

Your images stay on your device

Your browser decodes and re-encodes each image. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no queue, no watermark and nothing to delete afterwards.

    How it works

    1. Add JPG images

Drop them on the page, choose them, or paste one from the clipboard.

    2. Keep or remove the background

Leave it as is for a straight conversion, or pick “Make transparent”.

    3. Fine-tune

Adjust tolerance and edge softness until the comparison looks right.

    4. Download

Save each PNG, or all of them as a ZIP.

    How people use it

    Logos for slides and sites

Turn a logo that only exists as a JPG on white into a transparent PNG that works on coloured backgrounds.

    Signatures for documents

Photograph or scan a signature on white paper and get a transparent PNG to place on contracts and forms.

    Product photos

Cut simple product shots off a plain studio background for listings, mock-ups and social posts.

    Apps that only accept PNG

Some editors, icon tools and upload forms only take PNG. Convert a batch without changing a single pixel.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are my images uploaded?

No. Your browser decodes each image and writes the PNG on your device. There is no upload, no server copy and no daily limit.

Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality?

No — and no converter can. JPG discards detail when it is saved; PNG is lossless, so it keeps exactly what is left, blemishes included. What you gain is no further loss when the image is edited and saved again, and support for transparency.

Why is the PNG so much bigger than the JPG?

PNG stores every pixel without throwing anything away, which is much less compact for photos than JPG. Three to five times larger is normal. Each file shows its size change, so there are no surprises. For a small file with transparency, compress the PNG to WebP afterwards.

How do I make the background transparent?

Choose “Make transparent”. By default the tool detects the background colour from the image edges. If some background is left around the subject, raise the tolerance; if parts of the subject disappear, lower it. “Edge softness” controls how gradually the border fades.

    What does “Outside only” mean?

The background is removed only where it connects to the edge of the image. Areas of the same colour enclosed by the subject are kept — useful for logos with white letters or people wearing white. “Everywhere” removes the colour wherever it appears.

Will it remove a complex background, like a room or a street?

No. This removes one solid colour, which suits logos, signatures, icons and studio shots. Busy photo backgrounds need an AI cut-out, which is a different tool.

Are my phone photos rotated correctly?

Yes. Phones store rotation as a tag rather than turning the pixels; the tool applies it, so the PNG is upright. Other metadata such as location is not copied into the PNG.

    Is there a limit?

Up to 50 images at a time and 50 MB each. Very large photos use a lot of memory while they are processed, so a phone may be slower than a computer.
